Resilience

It seems like you’ve been through a lot recently, as if you’ve been tossed at the whim of the tides and wondering if you can keep your head above water. But you are now coming out of it stronger than ever- especially emotionally, which will become an asset unlike anything you had expected prior to riding these tidal waves.

This is the time to tune in and reflect, not just on what you’ve been through, but what you’ve honestly gotten out of it. You are not empty-handed. Maybe even a few scrapes and bruises, but it was not for nothing. What may feel like a loss is actually a gain. And sometimes that is hard believe or hear when you are only now beginning to catch your breath again. But when you are ready- take inventory. Even if one was to lose all their possessions, what they have gained is space- making room for what is truly meant to come in. Sometimes gifts like clarity can only accompany the tumultuous times. It can hit us in the gut and bring us to tears, but that may be exactly what we need to discover the quality of life we truly desire.

Perhaps you have cursed your sensitivity and ability to read below the surface, but now, things cannot pull you down like they did before. There is a wisdom and maturity that has come from your experience. It’s important to not have these lessons result in callousness or resentment. It was not to make you close off your heart, but to embolden it and make this your superpower.

Reframe how you interpret the bumps and obstacles on your path. Any rough currents are not there for the sake of torment; they will help shape you into the leader that you are- an example that others can take note from and be moved by. Someone who can face anything and still feel deeply without being swept up in what isn’t worth their energy. Maybe one day you will even thank the undertow for your evolution toward finding your power.

There may be something already in your grasp that you need to recognize. It is up to you to finally open your hand and notice the treasure you have earned. Observe what has been changed and what you now hold. And remember, your scars as not simply evidence of the challenges you’ve overcome, they are proof of your healing and of your newfound resilience.
